Our Surrender Policies

We are not a shelter or kennel, however, our group of volunteers receives many rehome requests from German Shepherd owners. Since we are a foster based rescue, we have limited space. Please also be aware that even if your dog fits the below criteria, we must still personally evaluate each dog on a case by case basis.

Incomplete request? No response.

You’ll need to give us all the information we need. If your request is incomplete, we will not consider your request when it is reviewed.

Friendly Dogs Only

The German Shepherd you surrender to us must not have any aggressive tendencies - this is for the safety of our volunteers and resident dogs.

Limited Dogs Accepted

We only select a limited number of surrendered German Shepherds into our rescue, depending on the current availability of foster space.

Rescue, Shelter, or Pre Owned Dogs

We can only accept dogs that are released from an animal shelter, another rescue or from the legal owner of the dog.

Rehome Time

Keep in mind, the time that it takes to re-home a German Shepherd is about one month - so, it’s important to consider this.

Up-To-Date Vaccinations Required

Heartworm medication, flea medicine, vaccinations, and other medical needs must be taken care of before the dog is surrendered.

Senior Dogs

Due to the limited pool of adopters, we may not be able to accept senior dogs that meet our criteria for surrender.

Issues with your dog?

If your dog has behavioral issues, we ask that you address these issues before we can rehome it - then, we can help.

Mixed-Breed Dogs

While we can’t take them, we can help you rehome a mixed breed dog by sending a biography to our screened adopters.

Veterinary Records

Please specify any preexisting conditions, including the ones that may impact other dogs. We will need a copy of all veterinary records.

Proof of Legal Ownership Required

You must verify that you own the German Shepherd you would like to rehome. We can’t accept abandoned or stray dogs.

No space? No problem.

If we do not have a foster space available and your dog meets our criteria, we can help rehome your German Shepherd by sending a biography to our screened adopters who may be a fit.
